SYNODS, COMMITTEES, FORMS

The Uniting Church has a wide network of administrative bodies stretching across both Victoria and Tasmania.

The church is thus very locally focussed but also has strong central support structures that enable the church to deliver a wide range of services to the wider community as well as to the church itself.

The Synod of Victoria and Tasmania has a Melbourne based Synod Office, which employs about 100 people to ensure the smooth running of the church. The Secretariat, and a host of other mission directed commisions and units operate out of this centre. Other commissions and units operate from other facilities situated on a variety of localities.

The Rev. Rob Brown is the General Secretary of the Synod and he has the responsibility to see to the overall smooth management of Synod operations. The Rev Dr Peter Blackwood is the Associate General Secretary.
